Residence Permit
We have shared detailed information about residence permits on other pages. Here, we will answer the most common questions from students.
Question: I entered Turkey with my national ID. How can I get a residence permit?
Answer: Those who wish to obtain a residence permit in Turkey must enter with a passport. If you entered with an ID card, you must exit and re-enter with a passport. Since the nearest and cheapest route, Nakhchivan, is currently closed, the best option is to go to Batumi.
Question: I have a residence permit, but I changed my passport. What should I do? Will my residence permit be canceled?
Answer: Your residence permit will not be canceled, but you need to go to the Migration Office and notify them with an application form.
Question: I applied for a residence permit. When will it arrive? Can I speed up the process?
Answer: The Migration Office has a legal processing period of 90 days, which does not include the delivery time of the card. It is not possible to speed up the process; you must wait.
Question: Can my father, mother, sibling, or grandmother obtain a residence permit based on my residence permit?
Answer: If you are under 18, the Migration Office can grant you a residence permit upon paying the required fees. If you are over 18, applications are reviewed without gender distinction, but they are usually rejected.
